My house has no wall. That works very well at keeping bad guys out of my yard, too, judging by the number of bad guys in my yard.

Meanwhile my neighbors don’t consider me a paranoid freak because, well, no wall works.

If the richest among us find marginal taxes of 70% radical, wait until they hear what the alternatives are.
It’s an indication of how successful the radical oligarchist movement has been at reframing the public discourse, that something as common-sense as a 70% marginal rate for the highest brackets is considered a radical outlier.
Radical oligarchists have so taken over public discourse that people whose entire ethos and mission is consolidating over half the world's wealth in the hands of a few thousand call themselves "conservative" and nobody says anything.

As someone who has been in the weeds behind the scenes on DACA negotiations for over 2 yrs now in the various forms of this admin, anything they say is meaningless unless they say out loud or understand that Nielsen & Miller only use DACA to cut legal immigration & end asylum 1/
Not all staff in the White House are immigration literate. You could very well have someone on background *think* they're talking DACA/border, & what's really happening is detention expansion for children. Reporters also feed into this because they also aren't in the weeds. 2/
People grossly underestimate how much Miller lives for this policy. He can talk in circles around everyone on it. It's *WHY* he's in the White House. & why he's killed every good faith attempt at a compromise thus far. Just look at Nielsen's tweets of the last wk as well 3/

Solid paper by @MKarimzade and @michaelhoffman . Some comments to follow.
In summary, the paper proposes a powerful imputation based approach for predicting TF binding in NEW cell types. Note that this is the practical prediction problem. Not cross-validation, where u simply hold out chromosomes in cell types where u already have TF ChIP-seq data 1/
Prediction in new cell types is the scenario we proposed to evaluate in the ENCODE-DREAM TF binding challenge. Kudos to the authors for evaluating using this formulation which is the practical scenario for using the predictor. 2/
