When I was in undergrad, I tried to organize a study group with the other students from my Calculus class.
Didn't know any of them..
Just shot out a message & waited to see who would meet me at the library.
His name was Tom.
Small, skinny, nerdy looking kid.
We got familiarized with one another & began studying for the exam.
He was practically tutoring me the whole time.
He could make complex topics, sound simple as fuck.
Eventually, we transitioned from talking about calculus to talking about life.
We talked about our upbringing, girls, goals, fears etc
Tom became silent out of nowhere.
Something was bothering him.
I asked him whats up.
He told me he had a confession to make.
Hmm... peculiar. Whatsup, I asked Tom..
Why? I asked.
'Because you are in a fraternity. And I always thought you were cocky. Couldn't stand you.'
I was a little taken aback.
'But after talking to you now, I feel guilty for thinking that. You're not bad at all.'
When I joined my fraternity, I became well known by a lot more people.
But that came with some side effects.
Like attracting haters that I've never met in my life.
If you are putting yourself out there, the same will happen to you.
Just a part of human nature.
Where there's love, there is hate.
If you are bothered by the hate, then you don't deserve the love either fam.
But guess what?
Our world has ego's, which automatically makes it unfair.
Learn to deal with the hate by strengthening your mind & spirits.
Pay them no mind.
Place your attention on your dream & goals.
The stronger your vision becomes, the more hate will feel like background noise.
