anyone who hasn’t been a teenage girl probably doesn’t understand how completely routine and ubiquitous it is for teenage girls to be preyed on, courted or groomed by much, much older men
i’m not talking about just aged 18 or 19 either
i mean, look at roy moore, ffs. but don’t fool yourself into thinking it’s “alabama backwardness” either. it’s everywhere
The minute you pubesce as a girl, the wolves are on your tail. And you don’t really know how to handle yourself yet. I bet most women you know have a story or two.
I haven’t watched #SurvivingRKelly due to frankly not being at a place where I can deal but im profoundly grateful for the conversations it has given rise to and will continue to provoke
