One change I’d consider is having a requirement that a % of cost of war be raised via war bonds.

A leader should sell it to public - if he cannot, should we be there?

A public that puts their $ where their mouth is will get results.

Anyone disagree - what is the downside?

There would have to be obvious hurdles to pass:

• POTUS has the duty to defend
• It would have to be a reflection of public - cannot be funded only by a couple people
• Etc

I will state unequivocally that the US Public deserves a modest return for all of the cost/risk incurred each time we go to war.

I have no moral limitations that the bonds provide a return relative to the risks.

Profit isn’t the moral issue - crony capitalism is...

I can imagine no greater terror for our enemies than them watching the US Public buying War Bonds!

I wonder how many wars can be averted simply by watching the American Public ready themselves to kick someone’s ass!
