I write about the culture of scarcity and precarity that our students operate within and how I think this imprints on their beliefs and behavior. The issues they're struggling with aren't much different than other generations, but because they're young, they manifest differently.
At the least, I'd like to see us stop with suggestions that what's going on with Gen Z and Millennials is somehow due to generational defect. They're merely responding to the conditions under which they're asked to operate. Let's get to work on that.
