These are my ruminations after seeing the plight of some academically brilliant but jobless engineering graduates who nevertheless have to start repaying their edu loan! Its already 9 months after graduating yet they have not landed a job! Reason, 1/n
no campus recruitment in their college & many companies refuse to take freshers ! The youth who are the future citizens of this country will be ever grateful if the so called campus selection of students by the pvt sector companies is regulated by bringing in reforms. 2/n
I'd like to have your views on the following:
1. Can there be some policy or regulation in this method of recruitment by pvt cos which continues to be the single main job providing platform for students across the country?
2 Can checks be put in place to ensure, nepotism & 3/n

favouritism doesn't deprive deserving students of a job that an undeserving one gets, solely by virtue of his/her education/admission in a top notch college obtained through "management" quota.
3 Why is it that top notch companies visit only the top notch colleges most of 4/n

which are autonomous & where scoring a good cgpa is relatively easy? For eg a student with a cgpa of 7 studying in a top autonomous college gets a job in a top company whereas a student with a cgpa > 8 but from a not so famous college affiliated to Anna univ is jobless 5/n
because there were no campus visits in his college.
4 Is it right that HRs of companies are adequately "taken care of" by big colleges to ensure campus selection happens in their college?
5 can a minimum starting salary be fixed for trainees & freshers commensurate with 6/n

turnover of the company? I see many engg grads joining companies for as little a salary as 5k pm!
6 can a central or state body oversee selection of candidates according to merit, from a common pool of job vacancies in companies instead of campus recruitments? 7/n
