Dear @arlenparsa, Thank you for the inspirational and comforting tweet #CovingtonCatholic #Magateen. Basic stuff is falling apart all around us and we are looking depraved on so many fronts. It’s nice to see that we have choices.
You have shown us that there is a high road, a smarter road, and we are free to take it. #Media impose a certain behavioral framework, but we can choose to engage at a higher level like you did. It takes more work and more commitment, but it’s ultimately so much more crucial.
We found the #CNN coverage disgraceful & unprofessional. What these #kids did was unquestionably reprehensible. But they are simply ignorant at this stage of their development. Are they the racist bigots of tomorrow? More than likely, but one may still hold out #hope for them.
They have been badly trained and badly taught by their elders. You resist the instant gratification to which #CNN stoops and #investigate the context in which this kid came to be in that spot.
This kid was raised in a gated community of the mind.
In a market-driven #democracy, we have #Texas determining academic book content for grades one through twelve because they place the biggest book orders and yet North and South Dakota have four senators, but California has two. #school #curriculum #UnitedStates
The support of #fascism in this country goes back to before #WWII and was mainstream enough for Joseph #Kennedy to have been around. The school looks like some sci-fi dystopic training place for psychotic soldiers.
They are being aggressively trained in patriarchal, white, male, elite rule. What does everyone think #SteveBannon is so unabashedly and openly trying to accomplish? He finds the whole notion of pluralism an abomination. That school is where one trains for that sort of agenda.
What is actually happening in that picture is SO NOT about what is happening in that picture. Watching CNN Fumble around and try to present that as some sort of Charlottesville was shameful.
Those kids wouldn’t last two minutes in a real entanglement. And they will probably never know one even though they may ultimately support and fund policies that cause a few.
Thank you so much for drawing attention to what’s really going on behind that confrontation.
So many are talking about a #PostFact or #PostTruth world and of the inevitability of misinformation’s rule. You show that all we have to do is work harder to rise above it. #Media #Ethics

China is American business' greatest global partner and our manufacturing "heartland." We don't just enable China, we enrich and empower it. Our economic way of life today depends on cruel oppressive regimes to enable "efficient manufacturing" and maximum Wall Street profits 2/5

This article should be available by free syndication as the cover of every single newspaper in the United States. It represents a simple truth: consensus is possible, even among adversaries, when it comes to the fundamentals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
We can come together as Americans. We will rise again together from all sides of blue and red. The world is falling apart without our leadership. We need to lead the world again, not just with military might. as we did in the previous century, but with wisdom.
The challenges of the new century require wisdom more than they require might.

Just when you think it can’t get any lower, someone hands you a shovel. It does not matter who you are, or what you call yourself, or what box you check when you cast your vote on election day; you do not get to question the patriotism of a purple heart. cnn.com/2020/07/07/med…
They don't just hand those out; you earn them wearing the uniform of the military and then shedding your blood in combat while doing so.
That any talking head who never put on the uniform, gets to now define what patriotism is from inside a broadcast studio, is a new low at a time when the bar seems to be set lower by the hour.

Yes @gregolear - by denying black history in its gruesome detail, we deny ourselves our own amazing history. Thus, the history of the United States becomes a history of denial.
But we have no choice. To go back and explain the reality of our history as intertwined with African and Native American history is to question the nature and quality of white American rule over this land.
Why else would the African American Presidency of a man named Hussein elicit such an overreaction as a man named Trump? Ta-Nehisi Coats spells it out theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…
