Disgusting smear from the @NYDailyNews sports desk that gets almost all the facts wrong to try to extend the smear against these kids. Someone should be fired for this.

1) The article claims the photo is from 2015. It's not. It's from 2011. That means all the current kids it tries to smear with it were in elementary school at the time. It has literally nothing to do with them or the incident.
2) It's a blackout basketball game. Kids wear all black to the game and some paint themselves fully in black. It happens at a lot of schools. It's is not blackface. I can see why someone who has never seen it could assume the worst, but media should check.
But I do like how they got a comment from Phillip's responding to the student's statement. He doesn't dispute any of it, but instead just throws more smears out there by saying they "looked like a lynch mob".

Class act.
3) Witnesses to the actual event are completely contradicting the attempts to portray this as something nefarious:
