I've gotten a bunch of DMs asking if I'm endorsing/supporting @KamalaHarris for the Democratic nomination.

No.

At least not yet.

I'm extremely excited about her entry into the race, but I warned a long time ago that if @HillaryClinton decided to run in 2020 then #ImWithHER

Absent Clinton, I fully intend to keep my heart and mind open to the entire Democratic field, with a few exceptions.

And if you have followed me for any time at all, then who some of those exceptions are will probably be obvious.

Needless to say, Bernard Sanders is a total non-starter for the million or so reasons I have laid out fairly regularly since the Fall of 2015.

Next, @SenGillibrand.

I'm sorry, but the junior Senator from NY threw @HillaryClinton under the bus too often for no reason.

I will wait patiently as the field grows and watch closely.

And I will listen. I will listen very closely.

It is very likely that I won't make a final decision until the late Fall or early Winter.

Because this is something I don't want to get wrong.

I will be listening for some specific things. My support will go to the candudate who:

1. Does not distance themselves from @HillaryClinton, nor criticize her publicly.

2. Owns the fact that we won in 2016.

3. Treats the Republican Party with the contempt it deserves.

4. Understands and insists that our first legislative priority as a party must be the restoration of the VRA. Until we manage to defend and protect the electoral process of the United States

5. Best defends the Party from Bernie Sanders' attacks and critiques.

6. Is best able to articulate and defend both their own platform and the party's history.

7. Shows an aptitude for debate. This is going to be a difficult area for me if Clinton does not run. I believe that HRC is legitimately the best political debater of her generation.

8. Does not engage in ad hominem attacks against their fellow candidates or criticize the party.

9. Best articulates and frames a strong narrative regarding the conspiracy by Russia and Donald Trump to steal the US election in 2016.

Obviously there are tons of expectations regarding legislative priorities.

This list is the minimum. If you can't at least bring these things to the table then you have no right nor reason to run for our party's nomination.

Let's do this right.
