For context, people often "drop" a legal claim if they are offered a settlement. In fact, a requirement of any settlement is that the claimant withdraws the claim, as that's what's in it for the defendant.

One interesting question is whether Facebook paid @MartinSLewis's costs
@MartinSLewis ... if a defendant agrees to pay a claimant's costs, that is a good indication that they thought they were going to lose or there was a serious risk that they would.

Even so, for a wider campaigning case that might not be the priority for the claimant

2/ This is an important judgment and will lead to the UK police having to think again about the systems they use to retain information about protesters. The judgment is detailed and well-reasoned - not just rehearsing of other judgments (as you sometimes see in the ECtHR)
3/ Court said whilst it is legitimate for police to sometimes retain records of protesters (e.g. Catt was a non-violent protester but involved in org where people were sometimes violent) there is a "heightened level of protection" for information on people's political activities

The story of Gobo Fango is a dismal history of slavery and oppression in South Africa, the United States and from members of the #LDS church. For some strange reason it is often contorted into a "faith-affirming" LDS pioneer story as I recently experienced at church. --Zandra /1
The truth ain't always pretty So if you're members of the families that enslaved Gobo Fango then the history I'm about to drop might be uncomfortable but if we keep reworking LDS racial history to make it "comfortable" we never grow in the Gospel and we repeat our mistakes. -Z /2
