I've seen a lot of malevolent behavior from the MSM over the Covington Catholic drama, but NBC trying to insinuate via viral social media headline that they banned a gay kid from speaking (when in truth the kid is only from the same DIOCESE, but a different school) is a new low.
There is literally no excuse for running that headline the way it is. Phrasing it honestly ("gay kid from totally different high school vicariously judges people he doesn't know") would have revealed it was not a story.
So I'm not sure what the justification here was, save "bad faith." They *knew* that the masses of people desperate for some further reason to mob these kids would read that as "MAGA kids' high school also hates gays!"

I am a conservative Republican, so please take that as an admission against interest as I patiently explain to you that Pelosi will go down in history as one of the most effective House leaders in the modern history of the Republic given what she has accomplished for progressives
Pelosi is old (and the grey-haired nature of Dem House leadership is a real problem - the GOP is legitimately better about promoting youth through the ranks), but the fact that she didn't deliver you a pony for Christmas doesn't mean that she's not extremely good at her job.
In an age of extreme polarization (and hence wild swings from cycle-to-cycle in the House), effective leadership means wrangling votes and instilling obedience and unity within fractious ranks. The Democrats under Pelosi have been nearly unparalleled at this, the GOP...welp.

One of the least-appreciated aspects of Beto O'Rourke's overperformance/Cruz's underperformance in TX-SEN last night: the entire GOP bench of judges was wiped off the map wholesale in Dallas and Houston. The legal topography of the state just changed overnight.
It gets worse than that. Due to straight-ticket voting option (gone next cycle), Harris County (Houston)'s long-serving well-liked GOP executive was defeated by a 27-year-old who has only sporadically lived in the county and has never held an actual job.
Ed Emmett was a guy a lot of people would have liked to see run for governor of Texas someday. Now he's a casualty of people clicking the 'straight ticket' option and voting for Betomania.

My election 2018 postmortem analysis thread begins here.

The primary takeaway for both parties from last night: the phrase "Senator Romney" sounds weird af.
Srsly tho, unfinished business first: I expect Tester to barely hold on in MT-SEN as the final returns come from Missoula and Gallatin Counties, places that voted big for him. But, as I kept insisting in the last month, this race was way closer than the media made it out to be.
In AZ-SEN, the race is all over: McSally (R) has beaten expectations to keep this seat in the GOP column. That means GOP ends up +3 on the night, with pickups in IN, MO, ND and FL (!) offset by the loss in NV.

This is bad news for Dems, for obvious reasons and less obvious ones.

I was watching this video waiting for a moment where the kids at #CovingtonCatholic did something truly outrageous, like getting into a physical altercation.

But there's none of that in this video. All I see is stupid kids WHO DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER, NOT KNOWING ANY BETTER.
But apparently, SOME SCHOOL STUDENTS MAKING IDIOTIC COMMENTS **TO THEMSELVES** is enough for the internet to attack them.

2) #MSM / #DeepState / #CIA / #DNC is trying to cover up the fact that they got access to 50 Million Facebook Users data directly from Facebook via Mark Zuckerbergs fulfillment of a request from Obama.
3) The way Cambridge Analytica got that data was from a Professor that had the same data because he asked Facebook for it & because he's a Liberal Professor, they gave it to him, then he gave it to Cambridge Analytica, breaking NO LAWS or agreements with Facebook.

Allow me a rant about @VICE and idiotic attacks on people who seek and research truth, but aren't corporate #MSM robots.
I watch @VICE on @HBO every night, pretty much. No surprise as @billmaher and @FareedZakaria r involved & they're both f--ing brilliant.
Unfortunately, VICE seems to have an issue both with @POTUS and with independent research a.k.a. "conspiracy theory." I view it as classism.
