He’s been running on a totally standard Republican platform thus far, so maybe all this “independent” crap can serve as an indicator of how toxic the Republican brand has rightfully become.
Oh well that doesn’t sound like a standard a Republican at all.
I think the votes lost to a candidate like this are the voter (pictured) who agree with the Republican platform, but just can’t find a way to self-justify their support of overt racism, and will therefore vote for the Democratic candidate.

Try again, dude.
I mean I’m just spitballing but maybe what we first need is a recognition that universal healthcare is a human right and a political will to deliver it, and “Medicare for all” is a useful way to express that recognition and indicate that will.
If you don’t think “Medicare for all” works as universal healthcare policy than give us your vision of universal healthcare that will, because otherwise all you’re saying is that you aren’t going to work for universal healthcare and if that’s the case we’ll find someone who will.

This is what it inevitably looks like when government cedes governance to corporations.

Corporations assess sick citizens as cost centers to be liquidated.

Put another way: They're getting as much value as they can out of unprofitable humans before letting them die.
We aren't having "political disagreements" with conservatives.

We're fighting for life itself.

Conservatives are in a bubble that refuses to see that.

It's going to pop.
Talk about HSAs and responsible saving to somebody who has to pay $1500/mo to live.

WITH insurance.

Talk to them about civility.

Talk to them about both sides.

You'll get popped.

there's a rather viral thread that argues people from 4chan and SomethingAwful have been duped by folks from 2ch into believing that japan is a depoliticized paradise of rightwingers
and uh, i understand why folks want to believe in that but that's fucking nonsense
for example, the thread confuses contemporary japanese right-wing rhetoric (historical denialism) with how the LDP gained power (the 1955 System or 55年体制 which split the dissenting votes into many parties)
we can't also ignore how the US saw japan as an ally in the cold war
japan was described (or rather reimagined) as a "geisha ally" for a reason
after ww2, japan was viewed as a "developing country" that needed a lot of help from the united states and so on
and development in the cold war (and even now) tends to depoliticize countries

(1) I recently decided to do some trench work on $BBBY as a possible turnaround play. The stock is down over 80% from its 2015 peak and, on the surface, boasts some interesting metrics:
(2) The stock sells for a mere 0.16X sales, 0.66x book, 5X earnings, and 2.4X cash. Despite recent trouble, the company also produces a 14% ROE and pays a 4.6% dividend. None of these numbers matter, however, if sales continue to decline. So what is holding back sales?
(3) Boots on the ground, a visit to a couple locations gave me some answers. My first impression was how cluttered the stores are. Being a bit of a neat freak, I felt uncomfortable and almost left from the start. However, I was there to study and so pressed on.

Ok so it's a Ben Affleck mystery movie. I can tell based on the lighting, opening credits sequence of scenery shots, and soundtrack.
