Loona Red and Blue Theory

When Olivia Hye's video for Egoist came out, I started to piece together a story that I didn't see a lot of people talking about. Mal and I have watched all of the videos together just to find red and blue. Let's start with Lipsoul

In Kim Lips video Eclipse we see her embracing her red world. I wanted to point out some things I've found interesting here. Firstly Kim Lip is shown with a Red Halo around her. We also see shots of the Owl a lot during these times. Owls can turn their heads all the way around

Owls are nocturnal creatures, but I find it interesting that lips whole video takes place in the sunlight. The lighting and styling is all red in her mv, but there is one shot where she seems to be dancing in the same place and it is night. You can see a blue light shining on her

We know that an eclipse is happening and we see many shots of what looks like 2 moons. A red moon being eclipsed by a black moon. An interesting thing about Kim Lips album is that all the girls b versions have their color as the disc, but Kim Lips is black! More on this later

Reading about owls I learned that some owls have shown wild reactions to eclipse' s, even coming out in the day and getting confused by them. Owls have binocular vision , and some owls are said to have such strong hearing that they could hear things in other dimensions.

The fact that owls can turn their necks around and see all around them connects to lip well as we see her looping all the way back to seeing herself and she has the halo all the way around her head. We also see Kim Lip turn around many times in loona mv's!

We mostly see Lip turn around to the left except one time at the very end of eclipse before we get to Jinsoul. Jinsoul as we know turns around to the right and can teleport when she does so. They are the 6th and 7th members so the direction they turn makes a lot of sense to me.

Let's look at Jinsoul in singing in the rain now. Where Eclipse was all red and in the sunlight, SITR is all blue and in the dark of night. Lip had a lot of roundness to her video, where Jinsoul has more squares. They are both blonde but representing opposite things. Red and Blue

We see a scene of many aisles of fish tanks. Jinsoul travels to what looks like the middle and we see her briefly look at the tank on the left with a Red fish in it. But when she turns right, she sees the blue one. I believe she made a choice here

I feel that these 2 members are mirrors of each other. 2 sides of the same girl. Lip turns left to represent the first half of the mobius and 6 members, and Jinsoul right to represent the last 6 members. In girl front we see a shot of them turning into each other.

Kim is looking over her left shoulder but when she turns right the shot continues to her as Jinsoul. We also see a quick shot of Jinsoul turned to the left, which makes me think it is to represent them switching like we know other members can.

Another thing that showed me they can switch was Hi High, you can see that Kim Lip has blue on the edge of her shirt and Jinsoul has red. Interestingly enough the first 2 shots of Hi High are Jinsoul and then Kim Lip, further showing the importance of these 2 colors

Now let's get to YYXY to continue this story. As we know Yves is finding herself and choosing to deny God and leave Eden. In her video as well as Olivia' s, a lot of what we see is red and blue which I found very curious. So let's analyze what we see and try and find out why

New starts with a shot of a bowling alley with Yves name in red but then quickly after we see a flash of the same place with all blue lighting. This reminded me of lip dancing at night with the blue reflecting off of her. As the video continues we see the blue light get stronger

We also see Yves outside with shots of the sun shining on her and she is wearing red. But then we also see the blue light cover her completely before the Vivi scene. We do know how strongly Jinsoul is connected to ViVi, but there might be another reason for this.

We see in the scene with ViVi shots of red and a lighter blue on them. When you invert it though we get the colors from ViVi' s video

At the very end we see a shot of an apple and the screen flashes red and then ViVi seems to wake up. We will see this flash more in Olivia's video.

Olivia Hye's video has so much red and blue lighting on her. I feel she makes choice in this video much like Jinsoul. We start with her in a bed with red light in the corner. There is also a dark scene with red and blue light on either side of her.

As she is climbing the stairs we often see her get hit by the sunlight. She looks up at it often as she climbs and we see many red flashes when this happens.

We see a shot of her turning much like we've seen Kim and Jinsoul do, and she turns to the left. The same way we saw Kim Lip do. We see her dancing with a Red background. We also see her dancing in a black and white world which also reminded me of OEC

We see flashes of YYXY and more shots that show red and blue. We see her animal the wolf chosen from the claw machine, and then we get Jinsoul.

Jinsoul comes in with a strong blue shot. Breaking up the dominant red here, notice she sings here about swallowing the sun in the afternoon which she sang about in her solo and it is written on the cans. Olivia eats a cherry to flip to the other side and pass through OEC

We see red behind her with the wolf in the claw machine and she looks down at the bed where the feathers are red. Then we see her at the hallway where the first room is blue. She entered the red room and we get black flashes

I'm reminded of Olivia's connection to ViVi and these pictures from her album always seemed so specific
