This bipartisan deal is not perfect, but it prevents another wasteful and unnecessary government shutdown that hurts our economy and holds the paychecks of hundreds of thousands of government employees and contractors hostage.
Instead of forcing federal workers and their families to once again go without pay, this deal gives them a well-deserved cost-of-living increase.
It increases our investments in infrastructure, public health and environmental safety and it provides local communities with more resources to address the opioid epidemic.

Far too many Americans are still forced to choose between having a career and taking time off to care for a newborn or tend to an ailing loved one...
Every new parent should be able to take those exhausting, emotional, irreplaceable first few weeks with their baby without having to forgo their paycheck or lose their job, just like I was fortunate enough to do last spring after giving birth to my second daughter...
No one should be fired for taking time off to care for a loved one, like my husband was after he used all of his unpaid leave to be by my hospital bedside after I was wounded in Iraq...

We can’t pretend wealth inequality is “no big deal.” It’s actually a very big deal.

Ignoring growing wealth inequality always leads to social unrest. Always.

So we can’t just turn a blind eye to it, which is what the right often wants to do.
The left is the most vocal about the ultra-rich.

They are correct to be concerned that 26 people own half of the world’s wealth. This will create massive unrest, the longer it goes on.

1) Today I tried to have several different discussions with various Democrats about Trump and current events. I ended up being blocked by every single one of them, which isn’t a problem.
The one consistent problem I did find however....
2) Was that when I used facts to back my claims, it turned ugly, real ugly. Suddenly the cognitive dissonance set in and it became a personal attack on me, and avoiding the original topic became paramount.
3) What I had (stupidly) presumed, was that people want to engage in a civil discussion, to share thoughts and see both sides of a story.....well.....

Get any documents and name changes taken care of ASAP, if possible, especially your passport. It's easier to stop a document change than it is to roll it back, and you might be able to wait this out.

Cis people, help pay for filing fees.
Take stock of your belongings. Know what you can ditch if you need to make a fast exit. Have a list of your essential items that can fit into your car, in storage, in a bag, whatever your needs are.
