Swedish Democrats have reversed course and, despite running on a manifesto to leave the EU last year, now want Sweden to stay in and work to reform the EU instead. (Article in Swedish)

It's amazing that Brexit in the far distance is enough to scare them off trying to take Sweden down that route, yet Brexit all around them does nothing to change the mind of many of our MPs...
In general, attitudes to the EU have dramatically improved in the EU27 since the 2016 referendum that plonked us on the path to Brexit. Brexit as a unifying force. Ironic.

No deal Brexit is the most dangerous path the UK could possibly choose, the political and economic equivalent of urinating on the live third rail while juggling chainsaws and grenades with their pins pulled out, wearing a copper hat, in a lightning storm. It. Can't. End. Well.
That's the reality of Brexit. It may be infuriating, it may be painful to read, but it's still true.
And WTO won't save us. Not in a squillion years.

There is an argument to be made for letting a no deal Brexit happen. Full steam ahead, and hit the iceberg. People will *never* believe the icy waters of the North Atlantic are real until the waves wash over their heads. But that's a purely intellectual exercise in schadenfreude.
Unfortunately, an "I told you so" frisson won't keep factories open. It won't put food in the shops. It won't allow young people to study or apprentice abroad. It won't keep stocks of medicines high. It won't prevent mass queues at ports. It won't keep rubbish from piling up.
And so we fight. Fight. Fight. Because the alternative is to suffer right alongside those we've just proven to be wrong. And that's too terrible a fate to tolerate. Far better to be despised for obstinacy than to be hungry, newly unemployed, or endangered by a lack of medicine.

Some confusion about the detail of the EU settlement scheme inside Government. The official page says "The deadline for applying will be 31 December 2020 if the UK leaves the EU without a deal." but Anne Milton MP says it's 29 March 2020 in a Written Answer on 31 Jan. @AnneMilton

(1) Swedish public broadcaster, SVT, does story on how employees at Swedish pharmacies are met with racism and Islamophobia from customers on a regular basis. Often, white co-workers just watch, saying nothing. Some examples of what has been said to the employees:
(2) "One day a male customer asked if something had 'happened' in the pharmacy. When I asked what he meant, he repeated the question: 'Did something happen here? There are only dark people working here. There are just black-haired people and two with veils'."
(3) "Another time a veiled colleague was taking prescriptions. When a male customer was called up, he came up to her and said, 'I don't want help from someone like you'. This was the first time she had been spoken to like this, and went to the staff room and cried."

1/ So #Sweden has voted and the Swedish Social Democrats are the largest party by vote share again, as they have been in every election since 1917. Good right? Nope. The real story is that the far right Sweden Democrats are now kingmakers, a 'former' neo-nazi party w/ power.
2/ So what's happened? Well, in terms of broad brushstrokes and looking at the result in a wider European context, what's happening is that the far right, sometimes openly neo-nazi as with Germany's AfD are milking a historically latent European Christio-xenophobia.
3/ They are taking advantage of a flat economy in which wages haven't risen to match productivity and profit margins, in which housing, transport, food, medicines, and education are more expensive on average, even in Nordic social-capitalist models like Norway, Denmark, & Sweden.
