As many of you know, I've been increasingly interested in climate change and climate solutions over the past few years.

A few years ago, I started asking myself: I'm a software infrastructure leader, with a specialty in reliable distributed systems - what can I do to help?
I believe that climate change is the defining challenge of our generation, and our children's, and it's gonna be all hands on deck.

So, I am pleased - and trepidatious, and hopeful - to announce that after 14.5 years at Google, I am leaving to found an energy tech startup.
We're going to focus on grid management and optimization - bringing our expertise in big, reliable systems to helping transform the biggest, most reliable system out there, the electrical grid.

Getting to zero carbon is going to take some science - we'd like to help.
If you're in the energy space and you're thinking, "great, more software engineers who think they know stuff," hit me up! I want to talk to you. Let's get coffee or chat by phone. We've got some ideas, but we know it's going to take a lot of groundwork to make this count.
If you'd like to know more, you can find us at @CamusEnergy or on the web at camus.energy

Or email me: astrid@camus.energy
I'd love to hear from you!
Also, shout-out to @EnergySRE, who is doing this with me. I'm excited to share more about the team as we're able.
