I wish more people saw that Liam Neeson was revealing something about himself he thought was shameful. That's a central part of the story. I'm not addressing how that story is being reported. Only that this is what he said.
I think there's got to be space in public debate on white supremacy for white people to say openly what they really think and feel. I don't mean David Duke stuff. I mean for those seeking to learn and act more humanely. Don't know if Neeson fits that, but the point stands.
I don't think Neeson should get more than a pat on the back. I mean, he's not a normal person. But normal people deserve the benefit of the doubt if they are going to speak what is usually unspoken, and if they are to be encouraged to engage.
