1/2 I’ve returned with a random design dilemma: So our living room consists of a matching light green couch & chair (which I hate color-wise but they are super comfy La-Z-Boys we snagged for almost free) and a beautiful ruby red loveseat. It looks like Christmas....
2/2 We have the chance to change things up in the new house but I’d rather not spend the $ to replace the green stuff. What colors can I throw into the mix in terms of drapes & rugs & pillows to tie it together and minimize the 🎄?
(Note: I love warm, rich colors like brown, yellow, orange, & red. I hate every sad, gray page of the Pottery Barn catalog. Neutrals bum me out.)

If you hear something about me today that doesn’t seem quite right (that I support infanticide, that I want to kill babies with disabilities), let me assure you, it’s not true. My thread about avoiding bad faith arguments re: abortion resulted in, well, some bad faith arguments.
I’d love to say it doesn’t bother me, but it does. It’s frustrating to try and enter a complicated & heartbreaking ethical conversation with nuance, honesty, & compassion only to be painted as a monster for not possessing the certitude others think you should have.
Of course my frustration is nothing compared to the women who bring to these conversations memories of some of the most traumatic moments of their lives and whose grief is met not with compassion but with hateful judgment and lies.

This. I’m sick of people intentionally mischaracterizing what the man said and, worst of all, relentlessly defaming the very real mothers and very real families and very real doctors who have had to navigate these rare and heartbreaking circumstances themselves. Just stop it.
Like, the merits of the bill are certainly up for debate. You can make the case that the terms were too open-ended. But you can do that without accusing its supporters of advocating infanticide. They’re not.
I've been on the receiving end of these bad-faith arguments for years. When I wrote a piece in 2016 arguing that strengthening the social safety net helps reduce the abortion rate, a major conservative publication claimed I believe "babies are better off dead than poor"...

The Big Bang presupposes Stars are moving at incredibly fast velocities, their lifecycle ending in an explosion Supernova, or a gravitational collapse into a Black Hole depending on which godless scientist you listen to;
both necessary to scientifically describe the creation of heavy elements.

Random Philosophy of Weird rant:
So I was thinking about a tweet I made and was how calling Japan "weird" has been criticized, because Japan really isn't any weirder than any other country. It's just different, so it seems "weird".
but the thing is, I think that's exactly what I mean with "weird"?
And to explain that, I have to talk about Knock Knock Jokes.
so one theory of how humor works is that it's basically like your brains cache-miss, it's an error report from the part of your brain that's always trying to predict the future. predicting the future makes sense, it's a great strategy!

As I stated in the previous thread, I’m writing these stories because people ask me how I was able to go from a N15,000 month intern at SOU to earning millions from ad campaigns.
I could say hard work, perseverance, patience, diligence, creativity etc which would all be true. But comm’n you already know all that. I had an extra sauce of faith and I learned it from Adefarasin & Oyedepo. Since you know the foundation I want tell you about the extra sauce.
I have so many ridiculous stories of how I won ad campaigns and pitches I could write a book. So as an honor to God who helped me and as I’m exiting the game soon. I want to encourage someone lost, weak or depressed. You can find an anchor outside of you when there’s a storm.
