Here we go ..

I was waiting in line for a ride at the airport in Dubai.
When a cab pulled up, the first thing I noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for me.
He handed me a laminated card and said: 'I'm Abdul, your driver. While I'm loading your bags in the trunk I'd like you to read my mission statement.'

Taken aback, I read the card.

Received a very nice #ShortStory from a friend, Ade & felt it was #TooGoodNotToShare ..

A “mouse” was put at the top of a jar filled with grains. He was too happy to find so much food around him. Now he doesn’t need to run around searching for food and can happily lead his life. Image
As he enjoyed the grains, in a few days’ time, he reached the bottom of the jar.

Now he is trapped and he cannot come out of it. He has to solely depend upon someone to put grains in the same jar for him to survive.
He may even not get the grain of his choice and he cannot choose either.

Here are FOUR #InvaluableLessons to learn and remember from this story:

1. Short term pleasures can lead to long-term traps.

I read another short story with some lovely lessons & I believe it’s #TooGoodNotToShare ..

An elderly woman had two large pots, each hung on
the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect with no cracks.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
BUT the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream and said ..

This is a really nice story that I received from a friend and believe it’s #TooGoodNotToShare

This story demonstrates why the experts need to be paid more for their services and how the power of knowledge is important.
A giant ship engine once failed.

The ship’s owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure out how to fix the engine.

Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a young boy.
He carried a large bag of tools with him and he immediately went to work on arrival without asking many questions. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.

Two of the ship’s owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do.

Beautiful story!!

Reading This brought tears down my eyes this morning...!!!

Its worth a read and surely #TooGoodNotToShare .

In the country of Armenia, in 1988, Samuel and Danielle sent their young son, Armand, off to school.
Samuel squatted before his son and looked him in the eye. "Have a good day at school, and remember, no matter what, I’ll always be there for you." They hugged and the boy ran off to school.

Hours later, a powerful earthquake rocked the area.
In the midst of the pandemonium, Samuel and Danielle tried to discover what happened to their son but they couldn’t get any information.

The radio announced that there were thousands of casualties. Samuel then grabbed his coat and headed for the schoolyard.

Got a lovely message and though a bit long, I found it surely worth a read and #TooGoodNotToShare

The gist of golf in one message and I am certain all #Golfers will love it !!

Like faith, golf requires us to lose our "old nature."
We first must learn the proper grip. Nature tells us to grip the club tightly, in golf though, a tight grip keeps us from meeting the ball squarely and it sails off in a wayward direction. This teaches us to keep a grip, a gentle grip, on our thoughts and emotions.
In physics v learnt that the harder v swing the farther the ball will fly. This doesn't work in golf.Using our strength to muscle the ball will usually only advance it a short distance. As in golf, our approach to life's problems requires a light touch & a well articulated swing

IQ vs EQ vs SQ vs AQ

"According to Psychologists, there are four types of Intelligence:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)
#IntelligenceQuotient (IQ): this is the measure of your level of comprehension. You need IQ to solve maths, memorize things, and recall lessons.
#EmotionalQuotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others, keep to time, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate.

Who is our true guide in life, with whose help we can take the right decision at every moment?

#ThreePiecesOfAdvice

Man chooses things or makes his decisions through his inner radar, which is his heart.
Once upon a time, a young newly wed couple lived in a small farm far away. They were poor and had no means of earning their livelihood.

One day the newly married man thought of leaving that field and going somewhere far away to find a job.
He told his wife,“Dear, I want to go somewhere far to earn money and I promise to come back with a lot of it so that we can live with all the amenities that we deserve. I don't know when I will come back, but please wait for me & be faithful to me.I will also remain loyal to you."

#ChangeTheWayYouSee

I don’t have crow’s feet,
I have happy happy memories of laughing with friends until the tears flowed.
I don’t have frown lines,
I have the marks of my frustration and confusion, which I battled through, smiling in the end.

I am not going grey,
I have shimmering highlights of wisdom, dashed throughout my silver hair.
I don’t have scars,I have symbols of the strength I was able to find, when life got tough

I don’t have stretch marks,
I have the marks of growth & the marks of motherhood. My womanly evolution

I am not fat,I bear the evidence of a life filled with abundance, blessings &good times

I Read a beautiful verse and reading every single word, I thought as if I it was written for me and by someone who knows me

Each word is so very true in my current situation .

I counted my years and realized that I have less time to live by, than I have lived so far.

I have more past than future.

I feel like that boy who got a bowl of cherries.

At first,he gobbled them,
but when he realized there were only few left, he began to taste them intensely.
I no longer have time to deal with mediocrity.

I do not want to be in meetings where flamed egos parade.

I am bothered by the envious, who seek to discredit the most able, to usurp their places, coveting their seats,
talent, achievements and luck.

The moneylender, who was Old and Ugly, fancied the merchant’s Beautiful Daughter đŸ‘±â€â™€so he proposed a bargain.
He said he would forgo the merchant’s

There were seven children in the whole class, whose toffees were as it is while all other children were eating toffee & commenting on its color & taste.

When a huge Airbus A380 was flying across the Atlantic, there happened to be a small fighter jet patrolling nearby.
The fighter pilot slowed down, flew side by side with the Airbus, and then greeted the old Airbus captain with the communication radio:

"Hi, Captain Airbus, is long-distance flying boring?

Take care!

Show you a rare flight show!”
After speaking, the little fighter began to roll, accelerate, break through the sonic barrier, climb rapidly, dazzling and then dive almost to sea level at a breathtaking speed.

After the dazzling performance, the fighter flew back to the airbus.
Asked: "How is it? Admire it?"

“In 1979, I was managing a Wendy's in Port Richey, Florida.

Unlike today, staffing was never a real problem, but I was searching for a someone to work three hours a day only at lunch.
I went thru all my applications and most were all looking for full time or at least 20 hours per week. I found one however, buried at the bottom of a four-inch stack that was only looking for lunch part-time. His name was Nicky.
Hadn't met him but thought I would give him a call and see if he could stop by for an interview. When I called, he wasn't in but his mom said she would make sure he would be there.

At the accorded time, Nicky walked in. One of those moments when my heart went in my throat.

I read an interesting post and felt it’s #TooGoodNotToShare

A few years ago there was a conference in the United States on investment and finance. During the question and answer session, one of the speakers was asked a question that had everyone laughing.
If he, the richest man in the world, could accept that his daughter marry a poor or modest man?

He said & his answer can change something in everyone-
“First of all, understand that Wealth does not mean having a fat bank account. Wealth is primarily the ability to create wealth.
Example: Someone who wins the lottery or in gambling.

Even if he wins 100 millions is not a rich man.

He is a poor man with a lot of money. That's the reason why 90% of the lottery millionaires become poor again after 5 years.

You also have rich people who have no money.

I read this short and inspiring story about being a #BeggarOrBusinessman and felt it to be #TooGoodNotToShare

I am sure you will enjoy the reading ..

Do you know the difference between a beggar and a business man?

Please read to the end to get the full gist of it ..
Once, a beggar while begging in a train, noticed a well-dressed businessman wearing a suit and boots.

He thought that this man must be very rich, so he will surely give good money if I ask him.

So he went and asked that man for alms.
The man looked at the beggar and said, "You always beg and keep asking from people, do you ever give anything to anyone?"

The beggar said, "Sir, I am a beggar, I can only keep asking people for money. How will I be able to give anything to anyone?"

After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to WalMart.

Unfortunately, like most men; I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out.

Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women - she loves to browse.
Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter, from the local WalMart:

Dear Mrs. Harris:

Over the past six months, your husband has caused quite a commotion, in our store.
We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to, ban both of you from the store.

I read about these Twenty Two #SocialRules and found them helpful and I believe may help you too.

These are surely #TooGoodNotToShare

1. Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they have something important to attend to.
2. Return money that you have borrowed even before the person that borrowed you remember or ask for it. It shows your integrity and character. Same goes with umbrellas, pens and lunch boxes.

3. Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is giving you a lunch/dinner.
4. Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or ‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ Or why don't you buy a car? For God’s sake it isn’t your problem.

#Vaccinations and the #PeltzmanEffect - explains why many people have become infected with the Corona virus after being vaccinated.

Let’s quickly understand as to What is this #PeltzmanEffect ?
Sam Peltzman taught microeconomics at Chicago in 1988.

The Peltzman Effect is a theory which states that people are more likely to engage in risky behavior when security measures have been mandated.
The Peltzman Effect is named for Sam Peltzman's postulation about mandating the use of seatbelts in automobiles - it would led to more accidents.

Safety perception increases risk appetite.

The only bird that dares to peck an #Eagle is the #Raven. It sits on the eagle's back and bites its neck.

However, the eagle doesn't respond or fight with the raven.

It does not spend time or energy with the raven..
All that the eagle does is to simply open its wings and begin to fly even higher in the sky.

The higher the flight, the harder it becomes for the raven to breathe. The eagle keeps flying higher and the raven eventually falls due to lack of oxygen.
#Lesson ..

✅Not all battles you need to respond to

✅Not all arguments or critics you need to respond to or answer back

✅Just lift up your standard and they'll fall Off

He sent me the following very interesting lines, which I felt are #TooGoodNotToShare and do tell us something ..
✅After loving my parents, my siblings, my spouse, my children, my friends, now I have started loving myself.

✅I just realized that I am not “Atlas”. The world does not rest on my shoulders.
✅I now stopped bargaining with vegetables & fruits vendors. A few pennies more is not going to burn a hole in my pocket but it might help the poor fellow save for his daughter’s school fees.
