Is “all about the Benjamins” a well-known anti-Semitic trope? I didn’t know it was, so I thought, let’s poke around online and see if others share my confusion. Here are some of the more striking examples of what I found (and I’ve got screenshots in case things are deleted):

Just highlights from 100s of tweets using phrase “it’s all about the Benjamins” tweeted since mid-Dec 2018 with no apparent anti-Semitic subtext and by all appearances by people who had no idea that the phrase is viewed by some as anti-Semitic.

A thread on the @IlhanMN controvery:

Over 15+ yrs working the Hill on Israel-related issues from a non-AIPAC point of view, members/staff (both parties) told me over & over that they agreed with me but didn’t dare say so publicly for fear of repercussions from AIPAC et al.

Crossing these groups, they made clear, would be courting misery - guaranteeing a parade of outraged major donors and potential revenge exacted in the next primary or general election. Every member/staffer has concrete examples of how real a threat this is.

And to be clear: EVERYONE who works on Israel-related issues on the Hill (from a perspective that challenges AIPAC, et al - which btw includes non-Jewish groups like CUFI) has heard the same from Hill staff and members, once the doors are closed - it is not a secret.

Follow-up on Palestinians’ “nuclear” options:

Under 2 US laws, US must de-fund any UN agency that admits the Palestinians as a member. There is no waiver, no fine print.

These laws were adopted in the 1990s, when Congress was hostile to the idea of Palestinians statehood or intl legitimacy. 3/x

All of us who work on Israel-Palestine are used to hearing: “if only the Palestinians embraced unarmed resistance!”
Since the Arab Spring we have heard over and over, “why don’t Palestinians follow model of Egyptians & come out to protest peacefully by the thousands? If they did, world would support them, Israel would have to change policies.”
Well, the reality is that the Palestinians have been engaging in unarmed protest for years.

Israel’s response has been to treat unarmed protest as just another form of terrorism.

What’s happening now on the Gaza border with Israel exemplifies this.

1. The alleged shooter believed in the anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that "the Jews" are working to destroy white America by bringing in immigrants. It's a cousin of the idea that George Soros is paying for "the Caravan." Let's talk about anti-Semitic ideology.
2. Good summary of alleged shooter's worldview. He belonged to the far right faction that sees Trump as "controlled opposition" (or a false flag president, if you will) -- i.e. Trump claims to stand for white America but actually works for "the Jews"

An anti-semitic Christian conference which promotes the anti-Israel BDS movement, called “Christ at the Checkpoint”, is hosting Rev. Stephen Sizer, a well-known anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist who blamed Jews for the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The event is being held in Oklahoma City this week as part of the organization’s concerted effort to challenge Christian Zionism and erode support for Israel in the American Christian community.
Sizer was banned first from using social media and then from preaching as vicar of the Church Of England after sharing an article on Facebook saying the Jews were behind 9/11.

It's not language I would personally use. But you can't reasonably claim it's anti-Semitic for a Jewish survivor of the Nazi death camps at Auschwitz to find parrallels between Palestinian oppression and his oppression.

Here's something that occurred to me thinking about this yesterday

I'm struggling to imagine a situation where any other minority group would have their concerns dismissed in the way Jewish concerns have been by many on the Left recently
Groups like JVL have been created, seemingly to offer the view that nothing is wrong, everything is fine, go away. And they are entitled to hold that view.

But would a comparable situation in, say, the black community mean the Left would therefore dismiss the concerns of others?
If a section of a minority group feels persecuted, but another section of the same group says it ain't so, is it now the leftist position to ignore those who feel persecuted? That alone would be bad enough, but of course, it is not just that
