I have thoughts about this.

1. Set quality standard in terms of qualifications.
So an imam isnt literally 6 jobs in 1 person... nor is it any graduate of madrasa or person who has simply memorized the Quran.

2. A person who never lived in western country should be scrutinized. Even then I say investing in the educ of someone to study and then serve as imam is better advised than hiring an "overseas imam" detached completely from the needs of muslims in the society they live in.
3. A community needs to figure out proper funding mechanisms other than every single year relying on fundraising to simply "maintain."
Investment to at least bring in what amounts to sustainability.

You NEED A FEMALE SCHOLARLY ROLE.

- Reciter of the prayers who teaches Quran
- Youth Director
- Women's Director
Staff of pro bono: counselors & therapists.
