In lieu of flowers (& my usual Valentine’s Day cynicism), I’ve decided to offer random pieces of advice on love not because I’m an expert but because I’m old & here’s the thing: I really do love love. What I don’t love is for people who don’t feel loved to feel like losers. FWIW:
These shall be offered in stream of consciousness & shall address Christians only.
1. Hooking up with non Christians doesn’t qualify as evangelism.
2. Why you keep ending up with the same exact jerk? Huh? Get counseling.
3. Get your own crap together before you marry his/hers.
4. If you flag over someone & something doesn’t sit well or feels a little creepy, I don’t care how much he/she claims to love God, RUN.

5. Do not ever see someone a 2nd time that you saw 1 hint of abusive behavior in. Done. Over. Even if she/he says “I’m really sorry.” Be DONE.
6. Bad temper? Bye bye. Mysterious? He’s/she’s hiding something. No exceptions.

7. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT marry someone you do not love.

8. If it’s too late, ask the God of all grace who IS love to pour His divine supply into your needy heart. Ask Him over & over. He’s kind.
9. Even if you loved him/her when you married, you will likely fall out of love any number of times over the years. This is not abnormal. This is NOT grounds to quit. OR to be untrue. This is marriage. Stay faithful. Be willing to fall back in love over and over. And you will.
10. I don’t care how dead your sex life is, porn’s not the answer. It kills sex lives. Destroys & don’t tell me how y’all are viewing it together as one flesh. That’s crap. Stop it. Get help. If you’re into it behind your spouse’s back, you’re committing adultery.Repent.Get help.
Well, I know I’ve been a blessing to y’all this morning. Happy Valentine’s Day.

PS. This is my 41st Valentine’s Day with 1 man.
