My personal view (irrelevant I know) is that Shamima Begum is morally repugnant, but to remove the British Citizenship from someone who was made a child bride to a terrorist at 15...
While she *may* be Bangladeshi too, I must have missed her trial...
I'm sure many of us have a long list of things we would love to do to rapists & child-killers etc. But Rule of Law means our justice system doesn't act emotionally.
I've been wishing for evidence to support jailing her since the start. I HOPE we haven't done this without it.
I do feel like we need to remember who we're supposed to be as a people. I've heard some interesting views on the topic.

Overheard in the barbers:
A) Just kill her.
B) But she was a child when she married the guy
C) Fine. Wait till she's 20, then kill her.
P.S. I am the furthest thing from a pacifist when It comes to ISIS. Show me a location free of civilians with identified active ISIS combattants and I would push the button with one hand and eat popcorn with the other, but maybe we don't use the same approach for child-brides...?

When you say "I want the Brexit I voted for", despite knowing that others voted for different ones, you're saying "I know that my Brexit version was probably voted for by fewer people than voted Remain, but I want the country to do it anyway."
Now I was about to follow this tweet up by saying "and those who want Brexit have have 3 years to agree among themselves what Brexit they want", but it's worse than that!
They've had 20 YEARS to agree on some kind of Brexit that respected the Good Friday Agreement! They haven't.
If any version of Brexit actually happens, it will be a Brexit that has less democratic legitimacy than staying in the EU, because it will not be what all of the 52% wanted.
Not by a long shot!

She said this at a time when the country needed (still does) politicians to stamp out the racism that Brexit 'legitimised'. Instead she dog-whistled, by mixing the legitimate need for change with the above Nationalism.

Even American firms follow the EU's rules on Data Protection to simplify global business. Companies like Facebook and Apple have taken on the EU GDPR. And they're literally half a world away.
The EU sets most of the rules for OUR continent. And we're choosing to give up our seat.

So much being said about #ShamimaBegum without any legal background to what is possible. She is a British citizen, which means she has a right to enter the UK - unless she is deprived of citizenship.
The Home Sec can deprive her of citizenship under s.40(2) British Nationality Act 1981, if it would be conducive to the public good & she would not become stateless as a result.
Ordinarily, deprivation doesn't apply to those like Shamima Begum who were born in the UK and British from birth. However, it is theoretically possible. But it's v unclear that she is entitled to any other nationality.

Competence is knowing what to do in a situation and how to do it. It is not the same as excellence.
Excellence is dependent on other people, like judges, examiners, teachers, assessors, inspectors, auditors. But we can't control these people and whether they think we're excellent or not.

#b 'Teknik menjawab' is not a series of rituals that you carry out to secure an A in the exam. You don't get guaranteed an A just through superficial actions like highlighting keywords or drawing meniscus or inserting isi tersirat.
The problem is students and teachers treat teknik menjawab as some sort of pseudo magical ritualistic gestures that will bring a certain outcome. Draw a pentagram, slaughter a chicken, and your wish will be granted.
Some remote Pacific Islanders in 1940s came in contact with Allied and Japanese soldiers who were more technologically advanced and thought the soldiers were gods who had many "cargo" (canned food, electronics, modern stuff)

3. Either now, or later, you’ll ask yourself “who is this cassowary and how did he find out all this stuff?” Easy: I looked. I’ve spent nearly 100 hours on this. Also, I’m pretty good at patterns and analysis. I used to work as a journalist and in humanitarian relief.
