This is incredibly embarrassing. Almost not even funny.
Here’s what people don’t seem to be picking up about this:
They’re not saying what Bernie has been saying, which is essentially, “It’s not about me. It’s about us. It’s about transforming this country.”
They’re saying, “It’s not about Bernie. It’s about you... electing Bernie.”

It’s bigger than politicians, y’all.
We can be generous here and give them credit for “... and what that means ...”
Still doesn’t change the fact that it has more to do with Bernie than “revolution” and where he sits inside of it.

This honestly has less to do with Bernie, and more to do with a considerable portion of the American Left. It’s just us reiterating that so much of the American Left literally isn’t listening to what he’s actually saying.

We have criticisms of Bernie and expectations that will determine how much we’re willing to engage with him, but it is well past time for the U.S. Left to begin *radically* refining and building on strategies outside of electoral politics.

Anyone who continues to push narratives that place excessive focus on individuals (no matter how great and impactful) instead of systemic solutions is distracting you, whether they’re aware of it or not.
And we cannot afford to be distracted.
