THERE IS A MAN OUTSIDE MY BEDROOM WINDOW CLEARING THE GUTTERS

I DID NOT KNOW HE WAS COMING

I AM STUCK UNDER MY COVERS

AND CANNOT FLEE

AS I AM NOT WEARING PANTS
FUCK

I NOW KNOW

BECAUSE THERE WAS NEVER CAUSE TO NOTICE BEFORE

THAT FROM THE TOILET IN MY BATHROOM

THERE IS A SPECTACULAR VIEW

OF THE ROOF

FROM THE SKYLIGHT
Now that I am wearing pants and can never pee again, I have scoped things out and see at least 2 ladders to the roof, and hear at least 2 sets of feet. They appear to be cleaning both roof and gutters.

I appear to be hiding from all windows for the rest of my natural life.
THE GUY

FELL OFF

THE ROOF
He’s alive and coherent and his rope kept him from hitting the cement but he also dropped 3 stories HARD.

He’s being sent to the hospital and told me he’s okay? But his arm looks NOT OKAY????
And now the EMTs are trying to “secure” the equipment for our safety until the guy’s company can come get his truck.
This day has taken a WILD TURN.

EMT told me the guy’s rope literally saved his life.

This is a whole lot rn.
He was able to walk into the ambulance but his entire arm and shoulder is wrapped up tight.

I feel so horrible for this guy. That fall had to be so fucking scary I want to hug him.
Dude is off to the hospital. I seriously hope he’s okay, but that arm looked REAL BROKEN.

His life-saving rope is still dangling, and I found the spot where he fell.

I need y’all to know how loud it was to hear a man literally FALL DOWN AND OFF THE ROOF.
So, dude’s manager is here and this is all a LOT and I had to describe the fall, and show him where dude landed and we found the exact shingle that dude broke his arm/shoulder when he fell onto it.
Also, manager is leaving dude’s rope up and bringing his entire team out to see how proper safety measures literally save lives.

And please note how fucking far this dude fell. He was standing on the VERY VERY TOP OF THE HOUSE.

HE. FELL. SO. FAR. JESUS.
This poor dude.

His day started having to see my pantsless ass, and ended falling 30 feet into a pile of ice.

I can’t. I literally cannot.
Manager, who is actually the company owner, said this is the worst injury/accident the company has ever had.

I said it’s because it’s us.

He said he will send more guys to finish the job.

I sort of screamed maybe no because this house is definitely cursed??????
Update from the hospital: dude is going to be fine!

He dislocated his shoulder and is out of commission for a while, but no super bad damage!
I literally just had to call the dad of the girl that’s here for the sleepover and be like, “Okay so your child is totally fine but I felt you needed a heads up that this guy fell off the roof...”

I wanted to assure him his child is safe but she’s with me so is ANYONE SAFE?!?!??
Aww! An update! Dude, actual name Justin, came by in his sling to apologize for scaring us yesterday. I obvs told him this was unnecessary and we were all so happy he was okay and up and about!

Be both agreed the best part was the magic rope and him NOT DYING.
His 10yo daughter was in the car (his wife was driving as he’s down a flipper at the moment) and Justin said yesterday made him realize he works to come home to his kid, and he doesn’t want to risk another day like yesterday that almost kept him from doing that.
He said he’s not going to do the high roof jobs anymore.

We both kind of kept staring at the rope while we talked. He was mostly apologetic, but you could SEE the shook on his face.

I’m so happy he’s okay, and that he gets to keep going home to his daughter. 💜💜💜
