You can see the progress of “Coast Guard Nazi” Christopher Paul Hasson’s radicalization clearly in the news reports, and it leads in a bright white line directly back to the eliminationist rhetoric of @realDonaldTrump, his GOP sycophants and his right-wing media enablers.
The question isn’t what motivated Coast Guard Nazi Hasson—the dual objectives of race war/ethnic cleansing and preserving the reign of Trump are clear.

The question is how many more Hassons there are out there.
I missed where Jussie Smollett amassed a huge armory of weapons and put together a hit list of assassination targets but sure, do your Fortnite dance if it makes you happy

It is laughable to see concern trolls on the right tut-tutting about how reparations will split the Dems along the lines of race—as if a divided left that keeps them in power isn’t the hot wet dream of embattled conservatives.

I’m not sure why reparations are even controversial?
America stole labor, body and life from black slaves, then proceeded to define them by charter as subhuman (3/5ths of a white man with fewer rights), fight a bloody civil war to keep them so, then abused their descendants while exploiting their tool and innovation for centuries.
It‘s like white people dragged black people to a poker table in chains, took their chips, made trillions in winnings and when asked to share the winnings in any equitable way said, “what, I’m supposed to pay you billions now? I can’t afford that! Besides, I mugged you HOURS ago!”

Most of the time, the things you blame poor people for—addiction, poor decisionmaking, lack of impulse control, criminal activity—are phenomena that arise due to poverty and its narrowed choices, or the long term generational effects of community poverty.
Some poor people climb out of poverty—because of intrepid character, good fortune or most commonly, the intervention of an individual or institution with resources and the luxury to share them. But the number is few...and they’re disproportionately white.

For most of U.S. history, the consensus was that the Second Amendment allowed for a “well regulated militia.”
In other words, the amendment was taken literally.
1/ Then came the 60s, when so much changed: The Civil Rights movement, the women’s movement, etc.

The Supreme Court in the 50s & 60s was very liberal, giving us, among others, Roe v. Wade (choice for women) and Miranda (protection for defendants, most of whom were poor & black).
2/ These changes alarmed the far right, igniting a powerful conservative backlash, leading to our current authoritarian moment. (What’s that? See this thread: )
