“To make things worse, the accusations within this phony attack received national attention for weeks,” said the chief.

“Celebrities, news commentators, and even presidential candidates weighed in on something that was choreographed by an actor.”

And in a rather remarkable admission on behalf of its #journalism caste, the @nytimes added that in saying these words about real crimes in Chicago not "getting attention," Johnson was "referring to the news media"
