I think this shows, more than anything, how much the framing of the question matters. Asked differently, in a way that deals with racism and inequality, I promise, you’d get different results.
I mean, the way this is framed, a black person could think race is being used against them in college admissions.
No way in hell I believe most black people oppose affirmative action in college admissions.

You know, I think a lot about the black people who were willing to put their dignity, and often their lives, on the line to bring about equality for their people, and then I think about this in the context of the choice movement now that values the individual over the whole.
Abon and Lucille Bridges had been sharecroppers when they moved to New Orleans for a better life. They sent their 6-year-old child through a white mob everyday in order to challenge segregation in the South for all black children.
When white politicians shut down the entire school system in Prince Edward's County to avoid letting black kids sit in classrooms with white kids, to break the resistance they offered black parents vouchers to pay for private school. Those parents refused.

Poverty is a lack of money, no more no less. So, by definition, giving poor people more money and resources would solve poverty. But also, I am somewhat shocked you actually tweeted this out loud. What's delusion is you thinking blaming poverty on drug addiction was a hot take.
I mean, to simultaneously argue that folks asking for the 70% marginal tax rate CLEARLY haven't spent time with poor people by proclaiming poor people are poor because they do drugs is the height ridiculousness.
But also, are you REALLY tryna argue that rich folks don't do drugs? That rich folks don't go on benders? Like, that's your argument? Difference between poor folks and rich folks who do this is, get this, money.

I’m glad that I got to meet and work with Stan Lee over the last few years. I did my best to focus on making our time on various stages together as comfortable for him as possible, focusing on things I knew he liked talking about, especially (before her passing) his dear Joanie.
To this day, people will say that Stan diminished the contributions of Jack Kirby & Steve Ditko. Onstage, going back to nearly a decade ago, I can tell you firsthand he did nothing but praise them and the role of artists in comics. He went out of his way to triple-underline it.
I had a weird perspective on the controversy regarding whether Stan Lee even *wanted* to keep doing conventions. They kept him *working*, which aside from Joanie, is what Stan liked more than anything. Being useful, being Stan Lee for people.

(1) The extreme accommodations being offered by Grassley & Mitch are the greatest #BlessYourHeart in history.

They know she will NEVER repeat her allegations under oath.

They know the votes next week WILL be 11-10 then 51-49.

They know Kav will NEVER be impeached.

(2) OK I used a little poetic license in Tweet #1. They can't know exactly what the votes will be; there's more than one way to #ConfirmKavanaugh next week. Any judge *could* theoretically be impeached on a new issue, but IMHO Kav is the least likely person ever to commit crime.
(3) I've had it with all the shrieking over this confirmation. No, ongoing Democrat slime ball tactics to undermine Kav once he's on the SCOTUS are not going to succeed. Haven't you learned this by now?

One of the difficulties in talking with Americans in particular about the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is that many of them have, at best, a half-remembered high-school version of that history in their head, and the subject is typically not covered well in high school.
The "bad" version of this history is pretty simple: Japan was a suicidal and fanatical death cult of a state, the US wanted to save lives and end the war. The US drops two atomic bombs, and the Japanese surrender shortly thereafter. QED, bombs are justified, etc.
Now what's maddening about this all-too-typical account is that like many convincing but not quite true things, it has elements of truth in it! It also has elements of falsehood, and, most importantly, essentially lies by MASSIVE omission.

I’m not surprised that an inclusive, race conscious (not colorblind) Black Conservative, like #TimScott could see right through what his “colorblind” Senate colleagues couldn’t! The judge’s writings sound eerily familiar, so familiar to alt right talking points on gender & race.
And if you look at the publication that the Judge wrote for “The Stanford Review”, whose founder is Peter Theil, it gets even weirder. Why? Because it’s been alleged that Peter Theil (a gay billionaire) has always had major problems with diversity — he even wrote a book on it.
Peter Theil wasn’t born in America; he was born In Germany, and then he later lived in South Africa 🇿🇦. In college one of Thiel’s African American doormats said “One day I heard a rumor that Peter defended #apartheid (which was then still the law of the land in #SouthAfrica)

1.) Pretty much my entire life I've been asked (primary by white people) the question that I imagine every "asian" person cringes at inside: "Where are you from?" I'm certain the person asking this is completely ignorant to how annoying this question is and why...
2.) Over time, I began to answer the question by saying "New York" or "California" - where I had spent my childhood and formative years - just to give the person the benefit of the doubt that they weren't going where I already knew they were...
3.) Inevitably, they would follow-up with some version of "no, I mean what is your background? Chinese or Japanese?" A.) WTF does it matter B.) Does anyone come up to you and ask - "hey, you Irish or German or Scottish or French or Dutch or etc...
