An independent analysis into the demographics of sexual assault & rape in Sweden between 2012-2017 has yielded some shocking results.

Notably, men of non-European origin commit 84% of 'serious' rapes despite only making up around 10% of the population

1/10 🧵
The chart below shows that Africans are most likely commit rape, whereas Middle Eastern/North Africans are more likely to commit aggravated rape.

Alarmingly, an Algerian is 122x more likely to commit aggravated rape than a Swede and an Afghan is 69x more likely. Image
When aggregated, we see Angolans are 15x more likely to commit rape or aggravated rape than a Swede.

Of the 25 nationalities that rated highest, only one (Belarus) was from a European country. Image

News breaking right now is another night-time attack on #Kharkiv

There have been multiple explosions in the city so far and more rockets on the way according to tracking.

Potentially good news from @amnesty

The organisation's pledged to have its' "#Ukraine report" examined by independent experts.

Amnesty International says it "wants to understand what exactly went wrong" according to Deutsche Welle.

Appointing @AgnesCallamard perhaps?

Some thoughts about the #Turkey membership in #NATO, its relationship with The West and the prospect of how it might going forwards.
Especially considering the problems with The West over #Russia, #Finland and #Sweden.
#greatdecoupling
2/
With #Erdogan in power, it is similar to #Russia's #Putin and his #Russia. #Turkiye got a leader that is only seeking the best results for his people. At the beginning the best development of Turkiye might have been a close relationship with The West. Yes.
3/
But the circumstances changed.
The first very heavy and deep blow in the relationship was the coup, that took place against #Erdogan, that was staged by #NATO. Erdoğan was saved by #Russia|n information, that he got several hours in advance. It was the first and major trigger

In 2017, a Swedish man was attacked and shot at a car park in Sundbyberg:

> Victim managed to flee to his car, speeding towards a hospital to save his life.
> The five men chase and derail the car, and execute him.
> Witness saw what happened and IDs the suspects in a hearing.
> The witness asks that his name is withheld for safety.
> 6 weeks later, the gang of five found out he testified against them and break into his apartment.
> Witness’s wife is home alone while the witness is out with the dog.

I am very glad our elected representatives made the right and sensible call here.

Such bipartisan support for such a crucial issue in global security!

The lone dissenting voice was Missouri Senator Josh Hawley.

I appreciate Senate Majority Leader Chuck Shumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell working together to make sure this was as close to unanimous as possible.

"This is a slam dunk for national security that deserves unanimous bipartisan support." -- Sen. McConnell

Good thread on #Ukraine's President Zelensky's visits to troops at the front, an important military-civilian trust-building exercise in themselves, a morale boost to troops, a way of gaining international attention, and of providing a contrast with Putin.

Russian President #Putin plans to visit #Iran next week. Relations with Iran have always been difficult for #Russia under the leadership of Putin, but in the absence of real "friends" in the international arena, one can try to brag about friendship with Iran.
1/12
Bragging is, of course, to #Russian people. #Putin plans to hold talks not only with #Iranian President Raisi but also with #Turkish President #Erdogan. The declared agenda is the #Syrian question, but in reality, Putin is going to discuss a much wider range of issues.
2/12
It is important for #Putin to convince the #Iranian leadership not to agree to #USA terms on the "nuclear deal" and to use his influence on the Iranian leadership on this issue as a lever of pressure, or rather, a bargaining chip in negotiations with the USA.

In a not surprising turn, the government has commissioned the Swedish Migration Agency to increase the number of deportations by 50 percent & to plan a "return detention center" for illegal immigrants who have had their asylum applications rejected.
This move comes after conservative and centrist politicians called for deportation.

One conservative politician said citizenship should be revoked for thousands of migrants.
