This is more than the Special Counsel, which has access to Cohen, has alleged to date. It covers a critical period right before the first Wikileaks dump; the SCO has never illuminated what was going on within Trump’s world during that time. politico.com/f/?id=00000169… 
Remember how this hearing was not going to be about the Russia investigation?
The gaps in the story the SCO has told have been conspicuous, as some of us have been saying for months. They’ve said nothing in public about what Papadopoulos did with his knowledge of emails, what Manafort did on the campaign, what the prosecutors know about Trump Tower...
They have only recently started to obliquely get into those matters in charging Cohen with lying about Trump Moscow, in disclosing some thing in Manafort’s sealed breach hearings, and (I thought) in highlighting Stone’s Wikileaks communications here
We still don’t know if the SCO is going to tell the full story of Trump’s side of the affair. They may well close up shop. But it’s those oblique hints, and others in the SCO’s docs, that tend to make me skeptical of the leaks out of Main Justice pointing to a hasty wrap-up.
