@CristalPalacios I think the pertinent question is: which approach gives the aid operation the best prospect of having impact? Depoliticizing it isn't a magic wand that will fix everything. But it will dial down the temperature and enable more space for progress.
@CristalPalacios There are already some aid groups (UN & other) doing work in-country. Discreetly. Creating space for them to scale up (and I think UN should be more assertive on this) is the best path to greater scale. Have heard from them that last weekend's events have done the opposite.
@CristalPalacios Example - cash aid to communities along the border to go into Colombia, buy goods, return. That's now been disrupted because of the border standoff. Those people can't cross over and are worse off than before.
