To an audience of several hundred in Charleston, SC, @corybooker says it’s up to activists to take charge and make change: “It wasn’t Strom Thurmond who came to the Senate floor and said, ‘Hey, wait a minute guys, it’s time for those negro people to have the right to vote.’”
“We have to got to understand - this is not about him, it’s about us,” @CoryBooker said, asked how to defeat President Trump without running a strictly negative campaign. “And we should not be motivated by what we are against but by what we are for, as a country.”

Today I’m in Simpsonville, South Carolina, where U.S. Sen. @CoryBooker is starting the first of a two-day campaign swing in this early-voting state.
“We will either tear each other apart, or we will rise,” @CoryBooker told an audience of several hundred here in SC, after talking about how “Bloody Sunday” on the Edmund Pettus Bridge - where he will be Sunday - has influenced his life. “On that bridge, they did rise.”
“The hip hop generation is my generation,” @CoryBooker says, in response to a question about how he will get out the minority vote.
“I don’t want you walking around here like, ‘Don’t believe the hype.’ I want you to be like, ‘Fight the power!’”

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli attorney general announces corruption charges against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu .
MORE: Israel’s AG says he plans to charge Netanyahu with bribery for promoting regulatory changes worth hundreds of millions of dollars to telecom giant Bezeq in return for positive press coverage. He will also charge Netanyahu with fraud and breach of trust in two other cases.
The final decision on indictment will only take place after a hearing, where Netanyahu is given the opportunity to defend himself. That process is expected to take many months and be completed long after the April 9 elections. apnews.com/78b9a30dc13743…

Sen. @amyklobuchar has arrived in Greenville, South Carolina, where she’ll soon address a room full of Democrats in the conservative Upstate.
About 15 minutes into her speech, @amyklobuchar gets laughs from this room of Democrats when she says she needs to have a “@marcorubio moment” - but enlists some help to open up a water bottle.

That construction of #OakCreek—as a tragedy for the Sikh and South Asian communities, not an American tragedy affecting us all—contributed to its quickly receding from public view, and to the underlying societal problems that the attack revealed going largely unconfronted. 2/

(THREAD) MAJOR BREAKING NEWS: Mike Flynn will plead guilty to Making False Statements at 10:30 AM EST today (Friday). This is the biggest development in the Russia probe so far. This thread explains what it all means, and will be updated throughout the day. Please read and share.
1/ First, it's important to understand that Mueller has entered into a plea deal with Flynn in which Flynn pleads guilty to far less than the available evidence suggests he could be charged with. This indicates that he has cut a deal with Mueller to cooperate in the Russia probe.
2/ We've already seen Mueller do this once before in the probe, with George Papadopoulos—who was charged with the same crime as Flynn, Making False Statements, to secure his cooperation with the Russia probe. The Papadopoulos plea affidavit emphasized facts were being left out.
