Are they kidding? Instead of building unity within the party in the run up to the 2020 election, Dem leadership would rather divide and censure. #IStandWithIlhan
Where were their resolutions over the years for the avowed white supremacist Steve King? Or all the birthers in both houses who spent 8 years attacking Obama's Americanness based on his Blackness and percieved foreign Muslim-ness?
Omar is being put through the ringer by her own party because she's Black, visibly Muslim, & speaks with an accent. Dems love using Muslim immigrant refugees as props in their diversity talking points not as legislators with a voice in the House.
Basically, the Dem leadership are telling Omar, we like that you make us look diverse, but we don't like your bringing diversity of thought into our party. You should be seen by our voters, not heard by them.
