The Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives in 1923 was Kaspar K. Kubli. He was also (coincidentally) a member of the KKK. digitalcollections.ohs.org/oregon-house-s…

This is one of the more infamous Klan photos from the 1920s. It was taken at an unknown church in Portland around 1922.
To be fair, the KKK was a pretty bipartisan affair in Oregon in the 1920s. One of their leading opponents was a Republican governor Ben Orcott.

I look forward to Mr. Falwell’s “History of America’s Worst Racists” with chapters on MLK, Rosa Parks, Frederick Douglass, William Lloyd Garrison, and Benjamin Banneker.
I believe it’s slated for publication during Black History Month, 2020.
It’ll be a key piece of the @gop’s effort to attract more support from black voters by showing how much they revile racism and the racists who insist on talking about it.

2. Washington spent most of his presidency in Philadelphia, the nation's capitol at the time. He brought several enslaved people with him from Virginia. But there was a problem. Pennsylvania had passed a gradual abolition law in 1780. phmc.state.pa.us/portal/communi…
3. That law stipulated that no enslaved person could be "retained in this State longer than six Months." This meant that if the Washingtons wanted to hold on to their human property, they would need to shuttle them across state lines once every six months. This is what they did.

Excuse me while I geek out a little! I found this this signed photo of former Oregon Governor Tom McCall on eBay and just received it tonight! He is generally considered to be original driving force behind Oregon’s revolutionary land-use system & environmentalism in the 60s & 70s
While working for KGW, he produced a documentary on pollution in Oregon, which helped to spur environmental cleanup of air and water ways. As Governor he led the clean-up of the Willamette River, passed the Bottle Bill, passed laws establishing public ownership of Oregon Beaches
And of course he passed into law Senate Bill 100 in 1973 which established 19 land-use planning goals we still uphold to this day! SB 100 also introduced the Urban Growth Boundary around our state's cities, which have served to protect our precious farmlands & open spaces.

Ob jemand strafrechtlich verantwortlich ist für den Herzinfarkt, ist im Ermittlungsverfahren.
