1. Two sources suggest May hoping to agree a time limit on finding alternative arrangements to the backstop - so it remains, but 2 sides commit to finding a different way of doing it within a time limit
2. (Don't all scream at once) EU rejected similar idea before as the 'flip side of the coin' of trying to put an end date on the backstop
3. There has also been a lot of chat about changes to the arbitration panel - PM statement expected at about 9pm, govt has to lay the motion by close of play tonight, so we should know before too long what has (or has not ) been agreed
4. Last thought til we see what's actually been agreed (honest) , don't discount possibility there could be a bust up later (maybe useful and confected, if you are a cynic), and essnetial for PM to show she has really tried
