Looks like Labour won't whip for Wollaston's referendum amendment, as per @jessicaelgot. The People's Vote campaign doesn't think it's a good idea, either.

A rare moment of unity.
The People's Vote campaign insists it is a "solution," not an "option" i.e it doesn't want to be in the mix with Norway+, Labour's alternative, etc.

"We do not think today is the right time to test the will of the House."

Its strategy is to be last choice standing.
Starmer confirms that Labour will *not* support Wollaston's referendum amendment and quotes the People's Vote campaign: "We do not think today is the right time"
Best For Britain — the other leading pro-referendum/anti-Brexit group — also comes out against Sarah Wollaston's referendum amendment
Some People's Vote MPs are miffed by the campaign's stance

One says you can't "treat this as a precious vase locked in a basement safe until 'right time'

"If PM can push MV1 MV2 MV3; if Cooper can push time & again — then PV can at least put itself on agenda more than the once"
Sarah Wollaston has no plans to withdraw her referendum amendment, I'm told
A pro-PV MP tells me "most" of their gang are happy with the decision to abstain.

"The most important issue today is extension, which makes a referendum possible."

They add that there is annoyance with alleged "posturing" of SNP/TIG.
