1. On what riots, school shootings and acts of racist mass murder have in common.

In 2015, Malcolm Gladwell talked about riots and offered a tentative idea to explain school shootings.

In 1996, the first school shooting occurred. Six more occurred in the two years following.
2. Then Columbine happened and things markedly escalated. Columbine was a turning point. A script was laid out. A narrative.

Gladwell: ‘This (school shootings) is a very contemporary phenomenon. It is an overwhelming American phenomenon.’
3. Gladwell comments that riots will trigger behaviors that people would never normally do. Ok, but how?

Granovetter, a sociologist, felt that riots were a ‘social phenomenon.’ He proposed we all have thresholds: ‘The number of people who are doing something before you join in’

Secretary of Labor @SecretaryAcosta should never have been nominated or confirmed and @realDonaldTrump should immediately fire him for the deal he gave to Jeffrey Epstein. Acosta oversaw a monstrous injustice and he should be ashamed of himself.

I finally have some energy after my surgery to talk a little bit more about #FOFSTA/#SESTA. Today, I want to talk to you about why a lot of anti-trafficking agencies were not able to say much against the acts publicly.
I don't know how many of you know that a lot of the federal #humantrafficking funding is tied in some weird political crap. While generally a bipartisan issue, there is a lot of conservative control of the way funding gets distributed.
One of the biggest issues with federal funding is that you have to sign an agreement not to promote engagement in prostitution or promote the legalization in prostitution. Not to be confused with the decriminalization of prostitution.
