The Daily Mail isn't fit to wrap two week old fish. "A blond little boy" is what they contrived to shoehorn into their headline about the terrorist who murdered 49 people in Christchurch. Followed by more material aimed at humanising him. Disgusting.
Or, from earlier, "an innocent boy".
And here's them suggesting people should "watch the full video" that the killer livestreamed.
How about some more chatty details about the murderer's background?
And here's their front page tomorrow, chastising Facebook for hosting the video. Yes, the same video the DM themselves were eagerly disseminating just hours before.
This kind of thing doesn't happen by accident. It's cold, calculated, playing to a particular audience. We desperately need a new Leveson-style enquiry, but one with real great white shark level teeth. Fine them out of existence!
The Daily Mail was BAD, but the Mirror dials it up to 11 with a photo of the terrorist as a small child, with the headline "angelic boy". I genuinely can't even begin to get my head around the mentality of those who decided to run with a front page like that.
Whereas the mention of the 49 victims gets reduced to a tiny font subhead tucked into the bottom corner, almost as an afterthought.
