Nationalizing major industries is exactly what Democratic Socialism is about.
An alternative is FDR style democratic capitalism-- regulation of business plus basic government services. Social Security, public education, health care...

@commondreams I dislike any type of socialism which is very different from regulated capitalism plus basic government services such as public education and health insurance. But socialism can exist in democracies. If you want to see socialism that is not democratic look at Venezuela.
@commondreams Calling Medicare for All or low cost public university education any type of “socialism” is a stunt worthy only of @FoxNews or a Democrat who really badly wants to LOSE the general election.

@CNN This resolution does not seek to regulate BDS. That’s a different bill that passed the senate. This is a much better alternative. Simply say it’s wrong.
@CNN There are zero First Amendment issues with the Nadler resolution. It simply says that BDS is bad policy and undermines a two-state solution which is 100% true.

It didn’t help her in NY when she said that President Clinton should have resigned.
The vast majority of Americans didn’t agree with that then and don’t agree now.
And it was a stupid thing to say when we need to get rid of @realdonaldtrump.

I’m going to do a thread on dependency theory, the idea that low-income countries are held back by foreign penetration into their political economies. While not as fashionable as it once was, this view remains highly relevant. theguardian.com/global-develop…
