John Minford, #SunTzu 4:6 "Defence implies lack; attack implies abundance."

Isn't this exactly the same as yesterday's lesson? No, not at all. Yes, it certainly builds on it, but subtle as can be, it's actually a totally different and critically important lesson. We'll use the same tool though, to crack its code - who is who?

You have a small castle that holds up to 300 soldiers in its garrison, albeit a bit cramped. But, it's so well fortified you can basically protect with as few as 50 soldiers or even less. So, for the moment you have 50 soldiers. A small troop of 10 enemies approaches.

You have an abundance, so obviously you attack! You send out 30 soldiers with an obvious 3/1 advantage and your enemy regrets his ignominious defeat. He had lack, and should NOT have attacked. You had abundance, so you should attack exactly as you did.

But wait! As you haven't read Master Sun's 13th chapter on spies, you have no intelligence and did not realize your enemy sent in 10 forlornly hopeful warriors, as a ploy to pull your soldiers out of your secure fortress, and has, hidden behind the tree line, 150 soldiers.

Your enemy has also read and memorized verse 3:5 & 6, and the last thing he wants to do is besiege you inside your stronghold. He is also a master of Chapter 13, and has paid spies living amongst you, who have informed him of your numbers. He even has them watching the temple.

Often reciting verse 1:17 - 20 to himself, he monitors the time you spend (fail to spend!) in the temple completing your battle calculations, and therefore knows for certain you are not an adequate student of Master Sun! Confident in his strategy, he brings 160 soldiers.

Literally counting on your sense of abundance - in this case false sense - he forecasts you'll fall for his trap, and sends his 10 greatest warriors who can easily handle 3 each of your poorly disciplined, poorly commanded soldiers. Still, let's imagine 3 of his warriors fall.

He will mourn their loss, always, and will never forget. Their families will be well taken care of, always. But now look at his abundance and your lack. He is down to 157 and you, having lost all 30 soldiers you sent, have only 20 left. And consider the morale within your walls.

His abundance is almost 8/1 now.

Let's look at this now with a bit more math, but this time at the concept level. Are you familiar with the term "binary?" What Master Sun has given us is the simple, yet profound binary of more or less, greater than or lesser than.

It's impossible to overestimate the significance of this absolute simplicity. With more, you may attack. With less, you must defend.

Oh how often do we see the foolishness of attacking when we should defend, or defending only when we should attack?

Here's a business example. You're a salesman, and you have just closed your largest account ever. They're famous in your space, and their purchase will send out important signals to all your other prospects. What do you do? Do you note that your abundance means attack?

In my experience, that's not all that likely. Rather, you're a bit more likely, without even thinking about it, to allow incoming interest to take over your time. In sales, outbound is offense, inbound is defense. Or, you could completely rewrite your plan, based on offense!

In #MAGA, we have a superabundance of ideas, principles, a historic foundation unlike any other previous movement. We have integrity and the right direction in order to Make America Great Again. We have a positive purpose and an historic mission.

When it comes to America's destiny, we have to name the Democrats, the MSM and the Swamp as our enemies. I know the problems with that, but follow this next step. We must also remember verses 3:1 - 4, where we're taught to NOT destroy the enemy but to win him over.

Comfortably using the term "enemy," now, I'll continue forward. Our enemies have the precise opposite. The have a vast lack of ideas, principles or guiding light. They have far better command and discipline than we do, but even that is fraying under their great split.

They do have an historic purpose, as we've explored so many times, dating back to 1848 and Marx and Engels. But that mission has proven so destructive, so evil, so false that it suffers a vast lack compared to our great superabundance. We must recognize the moment to attack.

Our temple calculations are not complete though. We really do NOT have good command or discipline. We don't know the way very well, either. And, there is a place we suffer hellacious lack, and that is with the minds, hearts, character and yes, souls of our children.

We allowed ourselves to be asleep so long, we allowed America to lose so much of her greatness that, without realizing it, we gave up on the education and development of our children into patriotic citizens, understanding their rights and responsibilities.

We gave away our children to the left. We didn't take the story of the Pied Piper of Hamlin seriously, sending our children to his institutions without a second thought. And now socialism has reared its political head with a force not seen since the 1930s. Here, we suffer lack.

Fear not. The binary balance off abundance vs lack shifts and spins. If we realize our vast abundance of righteousness, we can become rightly defensive over our children again. Calculations and calculations, we can find the path of victory. Master Sun has so much in store for us.

If ever a chapter begged for us to read ahead and complete the entire chapter even as we plod day-by-day just one verse at a time, it would certainly have to be this one, chapter 4. At least until we get to chapter 5, you know?
