Washington Senate passes a bill requiring presidential candidates to release 5 yrs of tax returns.

Okay.
Suppose Alabama passes a bill requiring release of high school yearbooks? Texas, a bill requiring release of childhood dental records? Florida, a bill requiring release of college entrance exam scores? Vermont, a bill requiring release of EKG taken within the previous year?
Why, hell, Iowa might require candidates to release receipts showing fuel purchases for previous five years (the ethanol lobby, don't ya know)?
There are FIFTY STATES in the Union.

Ergo, there is every reason to believe that, in short order, we might have more than FIFTY PRE-QUALIFICATIONS, in addition to the only three that appear in the US Constitution (age, natural born citizenship, durational residence in the USA).
There is no reason to suppose that the authority Washington would be claiming it possesses in order to impose such a disclosure obligation can be limited ONLY to Washington or ONLY to federal tax returns.
