We have been told, repeatedly, that requirements for identification cards to vote is "racist."

Never mind the well-established fact that there are, literally, dozens of everyday events in our lives that demand that we have, and present, identification.
Those daily events include: travel (driver's license if you drive; photo identification to board a plane; a passport to travel internationally); conduct financial business, requirements to provide photo ID and, possibly, SSN, to open bank and other financial services accounts;
purchase utility services, including electric service, natural gas services, water, sewer, and trash services; obtaining a home telephone line or buying a cell phone and cell phone service; to make purchases (guns, automobiles, mopeds).
There seems to be some generally accepted notion that many basic human activities can be secured from fraud and abuse by requiring participants to provide photo identification. And many of those activities are not limited to things in which only wealthy Caucasians engage.
Blacks and Latinos own cars, have utility services in their homes and apartments, use banks, etc. Yet, the #progressives, #Leftists, and #SJW crowd pretend that requiring voter identification disenfranchises #POC ...
as though #POC lack the capacity to comprehend how to obtain photo identification, even when States provide such identification FOR FREE.
If there was ever a case that proved, "the soft bigotry of low expectations," the claim that voter ID requirements are racist because, in effect, #POC do not possess the capacity to comprehend how to get such identification would be the textbook example.
Now, there is a new example of the "soft bigotry of low expectations:
@IlhanMN has shown a strong tendency to utter anti-Semitic slurs. Although the House of Representatives considered a resolution condemning anti-Semitism, the @DNC-controlled House watered the resolution down to the point of meaninglessness.

Such is politics.
In the aftermath, however, @SpeakerPelosi uttered the memorable excuse for @IlhanMN that her experience with the use of the English language was not the same as "ours," thus excusing her repeated and deliberate anti-Semitism.
In the process, we are left with the buffoonish and cartoonish image that @IlhanMN is a Somali-American version of @SachaBaronCohen's #Borat.
What favor is done for Ilhan by propagating the image of her as a toddler with a gun? Is this better for her, is this better for the @DNC, than propagating the view that her words were chosen thoughtfully, carefully, reasonably, even if wrongly?
The result of @SpeakerPelosi's approach diminishes the value of any contribution that @IlhanMN might wish to make to larger conversations about geopolitics, or any topic, for that matter, because, well, she's a verbal toddler.
I get that this helps Pelosi in her effort to dig the House Democrats out of a hole dug with the shovel of @Ilhan's (and @AOC's and @RashidaTlaib's) tongue, but it is so very #ManifestDestiny, #whitebread, and #racist.
