We mustn’t eliminate the electoral college, because then politicians would spend most of their time on the places where most of the people are, and “game” the election by craftily getting the most votes, wait, what?
Anyway, we cannot have an election system where the person with the most votes wins,—no! We must make a fair system, where someone living on a farm has 12 times the voting power as someone living in a city, as our founders (farmers who enslaved human beings) intended.
Our founders had some some good ideas. Like making rules for changing the rules when needed.

They also had some really bad ideas and did things which today would make the basis of a grisly and shocking horror movie, we don’t have to keep their bullshit broken election rule.
I’ve heard every reason for keeping the EC and what’s fascinating is they are all transparently dumb.
The reason they’re dumb is they all studiously forget the actual point of elections.
I’m just going to stick with the weird naïve idea that the person who gets the most votes should win the election every single time.
One person’s vote shouldn’t count more than another’s.
