And yet Ingraham did give a sieg heil at the RNC, and there were no consequences.

There is video.
Such amazing doublethink in action to watch her make that gesture without consequence, and conclude the lack of consequence indicates the gesture didn’t happen.
“The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

It is unmistakably a Nazi salute; an instantly recognizable gesture that doesn’t occur incidentally as part of some other gesture, and which would occur exactly in the context it appears: the end of the speech promoting an authoritarian nationalist.
Love to end my political speeches by raising my stiffened arm from the shoulder, palm down, fingers together and stretched out, in the direction of an enormous image of an authoritarian leader, a totally natural gesture which can easily be interpreted as innocent.
If you think about it the reason the sieg heil works as a symbol of a movement, is because it is a gesture unmistakable from any other gesture.

Unless you very much want to miss it, that is.
It’s a tautology designed to let people go on believing a comfortable lie, if the lie comforts them, and they want to go on believing it.
And pretty much every time I bring up the fact that Ingraham gave a Nazi salute at the Republican national convention and there were no consequences, somebody immediately points me to this article.

Which is the reason the article was written.
“Giving a Nazi salute would destroy your career.

“Ingraham’s career is not destroyed.

“Therefore, that was not a Nazi salute.”

Thanks, Socrates, but I have another theory.
And how quickly they come. Almost as if they keep it at the ready in case someone brings it up, so they can post the article that answers all their concerns.
I wish every single one of my followers would post this GIF to let the world know that Laura Ingraham gave a Nazi salute at the Republican national convention, and wonder why she still has a career.
Demonstrating that they know what they can get away with.
You can have your picture taken in the midst of a wave at a moment that makes it look like you're making that gesture.

But watch the video.

Nobody ever made that gesture by accident.

Certainly not at the close of a political speech.
It was a sieg heil and any conversation about Laura Ingraham should begin and end with that fact.
