really enjoy the aesthetic of highwayside motels. in one now where i can see what appears to be a decrepit theme park roller coaster from the window across the parking lot behind some dead trees, daring to venture momentarily into normie tv for research purposes.. good times
doing television semiotics with gf. i asked what was between "droll" and "schmaltzy" as this appears to be omnipresent vibe of normie comedy. she said "smarmy", i think this is correct
