Here's my old @CourthouseNews story from February on the Trump admin's policy change. courthousenews.com/us-faces-judic…
Since that time, a judge ruled the switch illegal. documentcloud.org/documents/5771…
The Legal Aid attorneys want to make sure their clients don't face adverse consequences before U.S. District Judge John Koeltl issues his final judgment.
He told me over the phone that at least one faces proceedings next week.
Referring to his clients generally, he added: "Many of them are in danger of removal at any time."
The letter acknowledges that there are "no guarantees" the government can prevent this, and the Legal Aid attorneys want DHS to consent to temporarily pausing the proceedings.
And they make that request in a public letter to a federal judge.
