JUST IN: Health insurer Kaiser Permanente paid Baltimore Mayor Pugh more than $100,000 for “Healthy Holly” books during a time when it sought a lucrative city contract. bit.ly/2U8QGi5
Kaiser confirmed to The Baltimore Sun that it paid approximately $114,000 for the books in multiple orders from 2015 to 2018. bit.ly/2JVhrCb
Additionally, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, another health provider to the city, bought “Healthy Holly” books for $14,500 in 2011 and 2014, The Sun also has confirmed. bit.ly/2JVhrCb

Okay, if what I am reading is true here, now we are beginning to see how private corporate interests were funneling money to Healthy Holly LLC via Healthy Holly books.

Here’s are the corporations named so far:

1) UMMS
2) Kaiser Permanente
3) BCBS
4) ABC

Just as I have been saying, the broader, more systemic issue is that PRIVATE CORPORATE INTERESTS have bought our government(s) completely.

Many politicians are also a part of the scheme. It’s not just Mayor Pugh. This is a huge pay-to-play scheme to secure corporate interests.
I’m betting that many people in power of private corporations—nonprofit and for-profit—are praying that Mayor Pugh steps down for good.

Not because it’s the right thing, but because they don’t want the scrutiny that comes from more digging into THEIR financial records.

@Phrma’s normal excuse for this egregious price gouging is that R+D costs so much, they need to recoup their investment. But in the case of PrEP, taxpayers, not @GileadSciences , spent over $100 million developing PrEP.
