ALL RELIGIONS ARE EQUAL ?

Wait For The End-

Now in her 70s, veteran artist Reba Pal has been making Chalchitras for #DurgaPuja for the past 45-50 years. The fading artform of Chalchitras involves the creation of the circular canvas of paintings behind the Durga idol.
Popularly known as Durga Chal or devi chal, its history dates back at least 300 years. It is an extension of the Patachitra art form of #Bengal. Though a lot has been written and discussed about #Patachitra, Chalchitra somehow remains neglected.

* In Malda's Gour-Pandua, Sikandar Shah built Adina Masjid with riches, pillars, doors, arches of temples.
* In ancient Kotivarsha, Dinajpur, invaders built Sultan Pir's Dargah on a temple. Its 4 granite pillars still stand. 1/3
* Shah Ata's Dargah in Kotivarsha/Devikot, now in Dinajpur, stands on ruins of a Buddhist temple, with a Tara figurine on the doorway.
* Dargah of Zafar Khan Ghazi at Tribeni, Hooghly, #Bengal, stands on a Krishna temple, walls of which had Ramayan, Mahabharat sculptures. 2/3

This is the business in which TMC leader Anubrata Mondal is accused of making hundreds, maybe thousands, of crores. This is a normal day at work in his enterprise. #cowsmuggling #Bengal
According to a 2016 estimate, about 3,000 cows stolen from across India are smuggled into #Bangladesh for slaughter EVERY DAY.
The cattle smuggling business is believed to be USD 500 million a year.
There is active connivance of BSF officials, Indian politicians and bureaucrats.
Cow vigilante killings have less to do with Hindutva than economic survival of small farmers.
Cattle thieves take away their last insurance in a bad year.
In 2017, for instance, #Bengal topped cow vigilante killings: 5 of 9. Farmers said they killed cow smugglers just to survive.
