The landmark #SacharCommittee report that collected & analysed data on the social,economic & educational status of Muslims in India is now available in our resource section. Specifically,it tried to gauge if & why Muslims are under-represented in govt departments & other spheres.

The 2001 Census showed that #literacy rates were low among Muslims, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
The perception that religious conservatism among Muslims is a major factor for not accessing #education is incorrect. As with many Indians, the main reason for ‘educational backwardness’ of Muslims is abject poverty, which forces many children to drop out of school.

1/ I'm stunned, but not surprised by AT&T's decision to extended their #Friends licensing deal with Netflix through 2019. A perfect example of, despite saying they were committed to winning in SVOD, Big Media wants to have their cake, eat it to - and then hope they get a 3rd cake
2/ #Friends is one of Netflix's most valuable titles. It's one of the most celebrated sitcoms, one of Netflix's most popular series, and has a whopping 236 episodes of tonnage - and a fervent fanbase
3/ AT&T could (and should) have simply moved #Friends to HBO, their leading SVOD asset. Imagine the impact on customer acquisition - all of a sudden the press coverage inundates all Friends fans to get HBO, if they haven't already!

So. This is disgusting. But also not terribly surprising.

There's some history to this guys refrain of "not my neighborhood" that I'm going to thread about a bit, because it's important to know and it's rearing its head in new and ugly ways lately.
Boston is a very diverse city. It's also a very segregated one. The roots of that are tied into the second wave of the Great Migration. Lots of northern cities saw a large influx of black Americans relocating from the south, trying to escape Jim Crow oppression after WWI & II.
Jim Crow was worse in the South, but racism and segregation were all over and surely prominent in the North. The Great Migration affected Boston the most int he 60s and a consortium of Boston banks met to discuss housing options for the rapidly growing African-American community.

1. I think I may have allowed myself to be misdirected by the DOJ and the Wapo.
After thinking carefully, & studying the enormous amount of research on Twitter regarding the possible identity of the FBI source. I think we may have been thrown off the trail.
2. Ever since this letter from the DOJ was released, we have been focused on "a specific individual". But, listen to what Nunes is quoted as saying in the WaPo. on Wednesday may 9th. See points #3 & #4
3. "On Monday, Nunes told reporters that his request did not seek information about a specific person.

“I’ve never referenced an individual. They did. They did that. I didn’t,” he said, referring to the Justice Department."

Another thing about writing fill-ins (back when that was more of a thing). You had to be ready to go.

If someone offered you a gig, you couldn’t spend a week coming up with a really great idea. They needed it now. Usually, anyway.
I got offered JLA #231-232 because @gerryconway, the regular writer, didn’t want to do the JLA/JSA crossover that year (most of the characters were tied up in a plotline on Mars, anyway), so the editor, Alan Gold, had to find someone else to do it.
He’d offered it to a number of writers, and they’d all said no. Not enough time, and those stories were a headache to write, anyway. Plus, most of the JSA was unavailable, too, due to a storyline going on in INFINITY INC.
