The @BlackHatEvents CFP closes Monday before you submit consider a few things that can help the reviewers understand and accept your submission. Start with my tips from last year:
Your objective is to appeal to the reviewers, but the reviewers are focused on picking the content that will appeal to attendees.
Make sure your abstract focuses on what *you* did and what *attendees* will learn. Avoid flourishing and language and passive voice. First and second person is OK, and most people are much better at writing/reading it.
The notes to the review board are helpful in case there are questions about your abstract - but if your abstract is lacking details, why would attendees want to attend? Make it easy for the reviewers to accept your submission by convincing them with just the abstract.
Black hat is 4 months away. If your work is cutting edge there's no way you can know exactly what you'll present in August, or even what you will have to demo. It's ok to say "I *hope to* demonstrate this" in your abstract. It's better than over promising & underdelivering.
Also - be clear with review board comments if you're still in progress on something. This is expected. Having to decline acceptance is better than underdelivering, but is still frustrating.
Last, be sure to ask for help. Don't submit anything without someone proofreading it for you - even non-technical proofreaders are helpful (and actually sometimes more helpful for their perspective)
